Why Exercise?

  • Increase your energy level. Exercising delivers oxygen and nutrients to your whole body helping it work more efficiently and boost your endurance.

  • Weight control. Being active will prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. You burn calories during exercise and the more intense the exercise, the more calories you burn.

  • Combat health conditions and disease. Exercising regularly can significantly decrease ones risk for a number of diseases, especially cardiovascular disease. It can also prevent stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, certain types of cancer and arthritis.

  • Exercise makes you happier! Physical activity releases chemicals in your brain called endorphins that are known to make you feel happier and more relaxed.

  • Regular physical activity helps you sleep better. When you are active during the day, you typically fall asleep easier and stay asleep longer.
